Course description

This training is aimed at those who maintain the Single Central Record (SCR); Bursars, Business Managers, Office Administration, Headteachers, Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) and Safeguarding Lead Governors, to ensure compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education and safer recruitment guidance. There will be opportunity to consider each column/section of the SCR with opportunity for questions and queries. We will also consider the responsibilities of the Headteacher, Safeguarding Lead Governor and Designated Safeguarding Lead in ensuring compliance. Please note current HR guidance is only available to schools that have bought into their service.

Training objectives

To ensure those who have responsibility for the completion and maintenance of the SCR have the knowledge and skills to do so with confidence and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

Learning outcomes

Schools will have fully completed SCRs and those responsible for quality assuring compliance will have the necessary confidence and knowledge.

Additional Information

Maximum delegates: 2 delegates per establishment may attend, further places will be added to a waiting list.

Target Audience: This training is aimed at education personnel working within schools who have a lead responsibility for the completion and maintenance of the Single Central Record (SCR) and those who have responsibility for quality assuring compliance.
Please note: In order for you to receive a certificate of attendance you will need to attend for the duration of the training.

Preparation and Follow up: All delegates should have reviewed their own SCR and identified any areas for development.

Refreshments: Tea/coffee and biscuits on arrival and partway through the training. Please note that Uckfield Civic Centre do not allow you to consume your own lunch on the premises. Lunch can be purchased and pre-ordered at the venue before the course starts, or alternatively there are local shops and cafes nearby.

Method of delivery: Tutor lead review of SCR using powerpoint and group discussion, sharing of good practice and experience.

Parking: please note that you are advised to park in a 10 hour bay at the free Luxford Field car park in Uckfield when attending this course. The postcode for the car park is TN22 1AL.
